Dear Brick Sponsor:
On behalf of the Yorktown Historical Society, the greater community of Yorktown, and especially for the gallant departed veterans of the Rhode Island Regiment, we want to thank you for your generous donation and sponsorship of the Battle of Pines Bridge Monument. Please be assured that your contribution will assist in the funding of this endeavor and we are grateful for your consideration and action with this public project.
As you know, we are a not for profit organization run entirely by volunteers, devoted to preserving and promoting Yorktown's history at the local, County, State and National level. Our BOD works hard to achieve our goals, and your support is greatly appreciated. We have also just taken on the major fund raising campaign to erect a monument to the 1st Rhode Island Infantry regiment troops who fell at the Battle of Pines Bridge in 1781, an effort unprecedented for our small group.
Although the YHS has been in operation for over 40 years, we have just created a brand new, more interactive website and initiated a Paypal account for donations and purchases. Hopefully our recently updated and revised website will help us interact more directly and efficiently to the public we serve. Please visit our new site at yorktownhistory.org/.
Again, thank you for helping to fund the Battle of Pines Bridge Monument and for your interest in the Yorktown Historical Society. Our next brick unveiling is being scheduled for the Spring of 2015 at the site in Downing Park. We hope to see you there and at the future unveiling of monument! Please follow our progress on facebook at “Remember the Revolution”
Sincerely,
Paul R. Martin III
